LionSteel Skinny: slim in design, but not in variety of options
The LionSteel Skinny is a sleek pocket knife. A special feature of this knife, especially considering its small frame, is the integral handle crafted from a single piece of titanium or aluminium. This knife is meant for EDC use, but in our humble opinion it doubles as a gentleman's knife. This cool knife is 'Skinny' in terms of design, but certainly not when you consider the large number of versions in which the Skinny is available. LionSteel Skinny: features
The LionSteel Skinny is designed by Michele 'Moletta' Pensato. This designer is known for his innovative approach to materials and experimental thermal treatments, resulting in very sturdy and functional knives.
Blade
The blade of the LionSteel Skinny is made from CPM MagnaCut, often described as the perfect knife steel. It is a stainless type of tool steel, with a toughness and sharpness retention comparable to carbon steels such as CPM-CruWear, CPM-4V and Vanadis 4. It's also easy to sharpen when necessary. Moreover, its corrosion resistance exceeds that of well-known stainless steels such as CPM S110V, CPM S45VN and Böhler M390. . This blade is long, sleek and has a drop-point shape.
Handle
There are many handle options to choose from within this collection. The models with carbon fibre inlays have an integral handle made from titanium and the versions with canvas micarta inlays are enhanced with an integral handle made from aluminium. The pocket clip is interchangeable, so it's suitable for either left-handed use or right-handed use. Or you could remove it altogether, to make the Skinny even skinnier. This versatility makes the Skinny collection suitable for different preferences and situations.
REF removable flipper
The Skinny is equipped with LionSteel's famous REF (removable flipper) system. This means that you can simply remove the flipper if you don't want to use it, using the included T6 torx screwdriver. You can then use the replacement screw to fill the hole in the blade, which will help the knife retain its sleek look. The advantage of this feature is that you turn a one-handed knife into a two-handed opener, which can work in your favour depending on local knife laws, or simply your own preference. The blade opens and closes very smoothly through the use of IKBS ball bearings and locks by means of a framelock fitted with a hardened steel insert. This combination ensures years of reliable and smooth operation.
