Fixed EDC knives: quick and easy to access

A fixed knife for EDC use? Yes! You don't hear it often, but there are plenty of fixed knives that are suitable for everyday use. There are many benefits to a fixed blade. The knife is quickly available for use without having to open the blade first. Handy if you wear gloves while you work. Or if your pocket is already full enough, and you want to wear the knife on a belt or around your neck. Also, you don't have to worry about dirt getting into the mechanism during use. In short: plenty of reasons! It just comes down to what you prefer.

EDC? Hunting? Or even bushcraft?

Mostly neck knives, but also other (small) fixed knives such as hunting knives and bushcraft knives are often suitable for EDC. How can that be? Simple: a knife is often made for multiple purposes. The term 'EDC' (everyday carry) is also quite broad. Someone who lives in the city has very different requirements from a knife for everyday use than someone who lives in the countryside. Outside of the city, you'll be more likely to be faced with heavy cutting tasks, sand, and other debris. A fixed knife is slightly better suited in those cases.
