It is what it is. It is tiny and the blade is very thin. You can get an edge on it and I drilled a hole in the end to have it on a keyring. Only trouble was, I put it in my pocket and it somehow opened and when I shoved my hand in it, I had the blade go right in to my thumb. Ouch. My own fault for sharpening it so much ha ha ha. Anyhow, it doesn't lock which is the main concern. Nice little thing to have on your desk for opening small boxes or packets but nothing more than that.
