You open it with the thumb stud and then a solid frame lock blocks it to prevent it from closing unintentionally. The sides of the knife are enhanced with two wooden scales. As such the knife looks great and provides you with enough grip.

bought the knife for my boyfriend and i thought there was a button to flick it open but there isn’t, it is difficult difficult to close was trying to figure it out for ages, UPS was awful my package had issues or something and i had to ring for about an hour to get them to figure it out.
