The lock-bar slides over two pins, amongst which the stop pin, that absorbs the force that is applied to the mechanism. A clever mechanism that ensures that the lock properly secured when opened! You easily unlock the knife by 'pulling back' the lock-bar in the spine of the handle. Due to its symmetrical design the Atlas Lock is great for both left and right-handed use.
