﻿The **Spyderco Shaman** is a large and cool pocket knife, designed by Spyderco founder Sal Glesser. The Shaman has several features you may be familiar with from previous Spyderco models. At the same time, the Shaman is really quite different.

We will start with what we know: a blade with a thumb hole, made from CPM-15V steel with a stonewashed finish. The blade is locked by a solid compression lock, invented by Sal Glesser himself. The steel liners have holes to keep the weight low and the G10 scales are placed around them. 

These G10 scales are what give the Shaman its character. They are nicely rounded, with a matte finish. They're also large, offering enough room for very large hands, and very ergonomic.

As a result, the Shaman has acquired its own place in the Spyderco range. It's a fascinating design, as it can be used as a work knife, but it will also appeal to collectors because of its interesting construction, ergonomics and locking system.

Geweldig mes, relatief groot en lekker robuust. Wilde altijd al een Shaman aan m'n collectie willen toevoegen en met deze sprint run versie was dat moment daar. Top aankoop als collectors item, of workhorse, maar dan zou ik de greepschalen swappen voor micarta, deze G10 greepschalen zijn erg glad en maken het ontgrendelen van het mes soms best spannend.

Shaman, a knife-legend, contoured handles, compression lock, thick robust 15V blade appeared not for me. It’s too expensive for a tool and far too “toolish” for a fancy knife. If only the cutting edge were perfect maybe it would stick around.

Was extremely surprised to see this CPM 15V blade version.
