Heavy and sturdy, this is a premium product that's perfect for hobbyists. A must to go with the Shapton pond. Totally solved any issues I was having around keeping the stone in place while sharpening. Very happy!

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Packing and looks are kuro excellent, works so well when combined with the Shapton Pond as it was meant to be. A well designed quality product range from Shapton for sure and a great price from Knives and Tools, thank you. Functionality, this beast doesn't move at all on the Shapton Pond and my Kuromaku stones fit perfectly the height is just right (for me) should you prefer a seated position for you sharpening, as you have bags of clearance same for standing. Like the Shapton Pond it is not cheap but I belive it to be worth the investment especially if your considering the Pond to, I would recommend a combi-deal to ease the cost a little. Postage arrived in a couple of days so excellent. Thank you Knives and Tools.

A solid platform for the Shapton Glass stones. It stays rock solid in the Shapton sharpening pond when in use. I have removed a half star because the little information available stated it is compatible with other brands' stones. The Imanishi Arashiyama stone was too big by a few mm and had to be ground down to fit. I do wish that K&T would stop using UPS to deliver to the UK: their app is worse than useless, giving no information for a long time and then an incorrect delivery date, even up to the moment of delivery itself. This experience is standard on the many occasions I have had UPS deliver. Using a poor courier results in a bad customer experience and reflects adversely on the retailer.

Much heavier and more solid than the Shapton field holder. This holder is a fairly substantial beast and provides a more secure and stable base for the Shapton whetstones. Worth the investment. Speedy delivery from K&Ts to the UK - one of the only places in the UK/EU where I could find this product.
