Great product from leatherman. This completes a range of leatherman goods for me and the wave lives up to its reputation. I have had it now for about two weeks and almost used it everyday. This is such a well made tool I would recommend it to anybody.

My 10 year old Leatherman Wave was going strong until I lost it. Knives and Tools was the best price I could find for a replacement and delivery was fast. If you're looking for a great multi tool at a relatively great price, you've found it!

The Wave was purchased to replace a Core that I sadly lost earlier this year. So far, it has lived up to expectations with an updated design from the Core that I was used to. Similar capabilities to the Core, the Wave has everything that I need on a regular basis. Improvements include access to the main knife without opening the body. So far, impressed overall - only time will tell if it meets with the high standards already set by the Core, therefore a four-start rating to date (1 month in)...

Use it daily. Don't know how I managed before. With the optional belt clip the tool is always to hand. Tools and Knives made the purchase quick and easy.

I knocked a star off because on mine, as supplied, the saw goes a little too far into the handle making it fiddly to get out. I can see now that its the way the steel is bent on the handle, it needed another millimetre to make it perfect, but there is no way to grip it to make that right so its a lost star instead. The sheath is pretty dreadful really, horrible fit and not the nicest despite being leather, but its functional, albeit not great. I would source a nylon version, better fit and nicer looking. The tool itself is great. Compared to the original wave (which I have, but is now relegated to minor jobs elsewhere) its far and away a better proposition. The old wave only had locking exterior blades (the two knives, the saw and the file) while the new wave has full locking throughout. The pliers, despite being considerably more meaty are actually virtually identical at the tip and the mating surfaces, they have just gotten stronger. The curved knife blade is deeper and more substantial than its older relative too, more akin to the charge than the old wave. The file, saw and serrated blade are similar enough to the old version to not need much of a description. Interior tools need a mention. The old wave had a lot of flathead screwdrivers, to me? Too many, while other people like my uncle loved the excess of flatheads. The new wave sacrifices a couple of those in favour of the bit driver. Personally i love the bit driver over the old versions screwdrivers as the bit driver allows for the flat bits that leathermam sell in the flat plastic sheaths. With a set of additional bits, you get not only a few flatheads, but star and hex drivers too. Add the extension bar (thats the longer extension, not the short version that only fits leathermans with a proper fixed philips driver) and you have an awsome setup with no real downsides compared to the old model. On the subject of bits, the wave comes with one bit that is a double ended item, having a flathead on one side and a philips at the other end. The new wave also has a micro bit driver, again the supplied bit is double ended, with philips and flat, this one making eyeglasses adjustment easy as its small enough to do the glasses arm screws. The scissors were a disappointment. Compared to the original waves they are a bit less substantial looking. Still functional and sharp, just not as impressive in a direct comparison. There is a lanyard on the new wave (as there was on the old) but on the new version you will need to ise the supplied bits flathead to push it out as its a firm fit, and as supplied, of you didnt know it was there you would never find it. From new, everything is a bit tight. Especially the pliers. It takes a good few uses to make them loosen up a little. I did find that the one handed blades (also stiff) caused your thumb to get tender when trying to free them up by contant opening and closing. It transpired that the thumb grip hole on the new wave is puched straight through, unlike the older versions slight chamfer to the hole edges. So the new wave has a near perfect 90 degree edge around the hole. I physically filed mine back an almost insignificant amount just to dull the corner and its an infinitely better item for it. One handed use of the blades is set for right hands, so lefties may need to get used to opening it with their right hand tather than fumbling with the left. Size wise, ots a fair chink bigger than its older model. The blades and locking mechanism (and the pliers too fir that matter) added a bit of heft the original didnt have. But its no deal breaker, the size difference is bearable, especially knowing everything locks so no more bruised knuckles.
