The Gerber LMF II is the successor to the popular LMF model. This fixed blade knife distinguishes itself from other knives in various ways. One new feature is a flat metal butt cap at the back of the knife that is sturdy enough to be used as a hammer or a glass breaker.

The **Gerber LMF II Infantry** is a robust, sturdy fixed knife, designed for military personnel. Veteran Jeff Freeman designed this knife to be a solid tool that you can rely on.

The blade is made from 420C-steel. It is stainless and also easy to sharpen in the field. The edge is partially serrated and partially smooth. You use the serrations to cut through high-fibre materials. The smooth part is for all other tasks. The handle is made from fibre-reinforced nylon with a rubber *overmould*. This means there is a nice layer of rubber over the scale with a grip pattern, which provides extra grip. The rubber layer also provides insulation: if it accidentally comes into contact with a live wire, you won't be affected. 

The holes in the handle allow you to tie the knife to a stick, so you can build your own spear. There is a sharp point on the back of the handle, which can be used as a glass breaker or a hammer. All in all, the Gerber LMF II is an all-round tool, more than just a knife.

The Gerber LMF II comes with a luxurious sheath. It is suitable for MOLLE vests and bags, and can also be worn on a belt. An extra leg strap is included to prevent the sheath from dangling around. A sharpener is built into the plastic sheath. This is perfect for sharpening your knife while you're out in the field.

Outil correspondant à mes attentes/besoins, on sait qu’on peut compter sur lui; attention cependant à l’utilisation qu’on en fait : un léger jeu peut se faire ressentir à la base de la lame.

Goed gebouwd mes, mooi in balans. Scherp geleverd. Sheat is ook praktisch en makkelijk aan te passen voor riem of molle. Een puntje van kritiek; ik vind dat het handvat te slank is. Niet geheel ergonomisch aan de hand ook met tactische handschoenen aan, voelt niet zo lekker.. maar ja dat is persoonlijk. Al met al wel tevreden met de aankoop, en natuurlijk de snelheid van leveren en afhandelen is perfect bij Knivesandtools.
