The quite rightly popular keyring torch E05 feels indestructible in the stainless steel version. This torch is compact in a way it is extremely suitable for daily use. This version is equipped with three light settings. Compared to the single setting of the standard version that means a nice extension of the functionality.  
  


This torch obviously is not a spotlight but provides a lot more light you would expect for 85 lumens. And in the low setting it burns for approximately 15 hours.

* The indication of the light output is according to the ANSI / NEMA FL 1-2009 standards. This means the values may be lower than previous indications. Obviously this lower value does not affect the light output of the torch. The advantage of the ANSI / NEMA FL 1-2009 standard is that values can be easily compared and provide a realistic image of the daily practice.

De E 05 Stainless Steel is een geweldig lampje. RVS wordt niet lelijk door de jaren in je broekzak.Ik kocht het omdat ik dacht mijn LD 01 (ook roestvast staal) kwijt te zijn.
Dat bleek later echter niet het geval. daardoor kan ik de twee vergelijken. De E05 is een fractie korter,en weegt-zonder batterij,31 g,tegenover 34,5g  voor de LD 01,waardoor de sleutelhangerfunctie nog beter tot zijn recht komt. Het licht van de E05  is echter van mindere kwaliteit. Vermoedelijk komt dat door een iets minder goede led. Het licht is vooral minder van intensiteit. De kleur is aangenaam gelig,dat wel, en je kan er het sleutelgat goed mee vinden. Mijn keus valt wegens het betere licht toch op de oude Fenix LD01.

Fantastisch lampje!
Schijnt op de hoogste stand extreem fel.
Enige minpuntje vind ik is dat de stand van felheid niet 'onthouden' wordt, maar het mechanisme werkt soepel.

Of een tientje bovenop de prijs van de alu versie het waard is is aan eenieder, maar ik ben blij dat dit exemplaar er ook netjes uit blijft zien aan een sluitelbos.

De. Fenix voldoet aan mijn verwachting. Mooi uitgevoerd en heel mooi licht. In alle opzichten functioneel.


Dit EDC lampje gekocht als vervanger voor mijn oude E05 (gekocht in januari 2013). Niet dat het oude lampje niet meer werkt, integendeel. De oude E05 had echter maar 1 lichtstand, en deze heeft er 3. Verder deze keer de RVS uitvoering genomen. Aluminium is lichter, maar voor zo'n klein lampje is de gewichtstoename niet merkbaar. En RVS is toch een stuk sterker en slijtvaster dan aluminium. Mijn oude E05 was behoorlijk gesleten op sommige plaatsen, met name de uitsparingen voor de sleutelring zijn bijna "door". Hier verwacht ik met RVS minder last van te hebben.
