The **Fällkniven NL1 Thor** is an impressive piece which leaves no one unmoved. The blade, a massive one to say the least, in stainless laminate VG10 steel expresses raw strength, combined with fantastic bite. It is evident to all and sundry that this is an item intended solely for specialists, i.e. woodsmen with long experience of using edged implements. There is no doubting that this is a chopper to withstand heavy use; but for those who learn to handle the knife, it is also a flexible tool which can carry out practically any job one might require of a knife. Magnificent and incredibly beautiful, this big knife is a trustworthy companion for life.  
  
## VG10 steel vs VG10W steel

For this version Fällkniven tried a new type of steel: VG10W. This is the famous VG10-steel, but additional tungsten was added to the alloy. As such the steel is much stronger and retains its sharpness even better. At least: in the Fällkniven tests. They are looking for confirmation and user experiences.

Dit mes van Fällkniven, de Thor NL1 is het grootste uit de Northern Light-serie. Deze laatste versie is uitgevoerd met wolfraam, omdat gedacht wordt dat dit het lemmet ten goede komt. Dit mes is serieus en oerdegelijk, en daarmee één van de mooiste messen op de website van KnivesandTools. Een echte aanrader.

Een heel mooi mes waar ik lang met veel plezier mee zal werken. Goed scherp en stevig genoeg voor zwaar werk.
Enige wat er niet klopt is de beschrijving van Knives and Tools dat het land van herkomst Japan zou zijn. Ik wist bij aanschaf al dat dit niet correct was maar toch slordig voor een product van deze prijs dat er zo’n stomme fout in de specificaties staat, je zou verwachten dat er iets meer aandacht aan zou worden besteed. Verder is de levering en communicatie door knives and tools prima zoals altijd.

Prachtig mes, ik heb meerdere messen bij knives and tools besteld snelle en goede service.

Ce couteau est à la fois robuste, léger, maniable, avec un tranchant incomparable, livré en une petite semaine, rien à redire si ce n'est du positif !
