It speeds up the sharpening process and amateur sharpeners can focus better on the sharpening instead of on holding the knife.

 To ensure the magnet won't get in the way if you don't want to sharpen with the magnet it is possible to activate and deactivate it by pushing the magnet up or down. For it you don't have to remove the Edge Pro Apex magnet! Use the magnet when you need it and deactivate it if you don't need it. Quick and easy.

 Using the Edge Pro Apex Magnet is very simple. The magnet and casing fit exactly in the **new** Edge Pro Apex sharpening systems. Place the magnet underneath the system and it is ready to be used. If you have an **older** version of the Edge Pro Apex you need to replace the screws in the feet to make room for the magnet. These screws come with the magnet!

Absolute must-have, mooie combi met de Edge Pro Apex Slide Guide SGAPEX-D. De originele Edge Pro Apex mist iets dat je mes stevig vasthoudt. Deze magneet maakt het slijpen trefzekerder vanaf het begin en een stuk makkelijker. Magneet is trouwens echt sterk en laat zich makkelijk in en uit trekken voor kantwissel

Deze magneet had ik eerder moeten hebben. Het mes ligt veel stabieler op de slijptafel. De lichtere messen hoef je eigenlijk niet eens meer vast te houden.
Gelukkig zaten er schroefjes bij want op mijn systeem uit 2012 zaten nog de dikkere schroeven. Past precies allemaal.
Stevig aan de prijs maar ben er wel content mee!

I ordered this at the same time as the Edge Pro Apex and consider it a must. The magnet is very strong and holds the knife flat to the base so you only have to worry about keeping the knife parallel. A little expensive but worth it overall.

Vraiment cher pour ce que c'est.c'est la première impression.
Utile ?oui c'est une bonne aide pour débuter avec ce système d'aiguisage.
Une fois le couteau en place,on ne peut pas retirer l'aimant.en effet,l'aimant reste coller en haut tandis que la petite manette qui sert a l'en décoller vient vers le bas .
Au final je pense que je m'en passerai à la longue.
