The **CRKT HZ6 Black 2927**, designed by James Williams is an homage to the Hira-Zukuri. Originally a short and classic Japanese sword. From the 8th century. This characterizing blade shape was originally used for daggers and short knives. Later also for swords. The CRKT HZ6 is a modern interpretation and beautifully embodies this Japanese classic.

The blade is made from SK5 carbon steel. This type of steel is not corrosion resistant, but protected by a black powder coating. The handle is made from G10. Light-weight, strong and offers you enough grip. The milled grooves in the handle refer to the handles from the Japanese knife culture. Which were often wrapped in fabric in an X-pattern for enough grip.

The CRKT HZ6 comes with a solid boltaron sheath. This sheath also comes with a belt clip to make sure you can carry the knife on your belt.

The knife is a great choice for a budget Williams blade if you look on his website they’re going for $600 + so this is a good option. The only downside is the sheath and the clip it comes with. You can’t really get Tek Lok to fit because of the position of the holes, so I used Tek Lok loops which I like but then you’re limited to horizontal carry. 

This blade is awesome and meets all tactical needs from a Williams perspective, the only let down is the sheath.

Gaaf design, vlijmscherp en perfecte punt. Het handvat voelt misschien wat ruw aan maar geeft daardoor uiteraard een goede grip. Een aanrader voor liefhebbers van Japanse ‘combat knives’.
