The **Benchmade Bailout 537GY** is a light-weight and solid pocket knife. The 537 Bailout is a larger version of the famous Benchmade Bugout. One of the best EDC knives ever produced, designed for hikers who pay attention to every gram. Because the Bugout was so popular Benchmade also used this light-weight construction for the Bailout. But that is not all, many design elements on the Bailout come from the Bugout. The handle, for instance, which is also made from grivory. An incredibly light-weight type of plastic that is remarkably strong for its weight. The Bailout is also enhanced with the same diamond pattern on the handle and of course the famous axis lock.

The 537 Bailout is a part of Benchmade’s black class collection, and was designed as a tactical knife for first responders and soldiers. This is clear when you look at the blade. The tip is enhanced with a tanto-style shape, perfect for self-defence and penetrating tasks. Benchmade selected 3V-steel for the blade. One of the most tough and robust types of steel at the moment. This steel can easily handle heavy-duty use. In addition, it retains its sharpness well and is relatively easy to sharpen. It is also important to know that CPM 3V is not 100% stainless. Benchmade solved this problem by giving the Bailout a tough grey cerakote-coating. A remarkable detail is the aluminium backspacer which is enhanced with an elongated lanyard hole. The backspacer can be used as a glass breaker.

The Benchmade 537 Bailout has a slightly shorter deep-carry pocket clip than most models. Less steel means less weight: another detail Benchmade thought carefully about. You are, of course, able to place the clip on both sides to make it the perfect knife for both left and right-handed use.

 Ich bin ein Benchmade fan. Design gefällt mir, aber die Ausführung (die Klinge, das Messergriff) haben mich enttäuscht.   

Best EDC I had. 

Bailout was my first 3V knife. 
I had a belt  S35VN, which I sold in order to buy a 3V belt knife. 

I only need to take a few hits on the strop every 2-3 months and it servers me daily, from opening boxes, to cutting rope, cutting wood sometimes meat etc. 
Even tough it's not designed for this, I opened a few cans with it, no troubles no problem. 

I would have liked some metal scales, even as a possibility to buy them extra because sometimes while being hard on it, I feel the plastic bend and it won't probably break, but I would want to be 100% on that. 

Just keep the mechanism oiled with Camila oil or any other oil from time to time and it will serve you good. 

As a small con, I have to tighten the main flipping screw from time to time. It keeps getting loose. 

The shape is perfect, I haven't ever thought that the tanto style will be so useful. 

Exactly what i expected, well build, light and falar in the Hans it's a Benchmade...what can i say...
