The **Yaxell Tsuchimon kiritsuke** is a stylish Japanese kitchen knife with a hammered blade. The kiritsuke was designed as a versatile knife for preparing Asian dishes. It combines the flat blade of a nakiri (vegetable knife) and the tip of a sujihiki (fish knife). Thanks to this combination, you can cut many different ingredients with just one knife.

## Yaxell Tsuchimon steel

The 3-layer blade has a VG10 steel core hardened to 61 HRC. VG10 steel is known for being a very hard steel, but also easy to work with. An experienced blacksmith can sharpen the blade very thin and razor-sharp. To give the core as much protection as possible, the VG10 steel is encased in 2 layers of stainless steel. These layers also create the line that can be seen just above the edge of the blade.

The blade has a hammered finish. In Japanese, this finish is called Tsuchime. Hence the name of this series! It is a traditional and artisanal Japanese finish created by the blacksmith's hammer. 

## Yaxell Tsuchimon handle

The handle is made from micarta. Micarta is a material comprised of linen impregnated with an epoxy resin. This makes it a very strong material. It can withstand virtually anything, and has great water resistance. Micarta is known for offering plenty of grip. Even if it's wet. The oval and round shape of the handle offers good grip and is comfortable to hold.
