Full description
The Wetterlings Hudson Bay Axe is a great axe, forged by Rikard Jansson at Wetterlings Sweden. The axe head is made of Swedish axe steel (not stainless) with a hardness of 57 HRC. This is harder than average Hudson Bay-axes. Characteristic of this type of axe is the straight, square part around the handle. It runs in a straight line forward to the convex cutting edge which is sharpened to a really sharp edge. The handle is made of American hickory. This type of wood is highly resistant to the extreme force that it is subjected to during chopping.

I run my own small joinery business, and we create huge quantities of off-cut timber, which we split up for sale as kindling. I have bought two Wetterling axes, both of which are absolutely superb. The smaller chopper gets used daily, the big axe not so often, both are 100% satisfactory.
