The **TSPROF K03 Starter Kit sharpening system** is the basic model of the TSPROF K03-collection. An exceptionally advanced Russian sharpening system. It doesn't get any more accurate than this. The Starter Kit is the basic model, but not any less accurate than the more extensive versions. Better yet, the basis of the sharpening system is the same for all TSPROF sharpening systems.

## The K03 Sharpening system


If you are looking for ultimate sharpness and precision this sharpening system will be perfect for you. It might be a little expensive, but you do receive a Ferrari amongst the sharpening systems. The system is mostly comprised of milled aluminium with a couple steel parts. The system is robust, rock-solid, and easy to assemble once you know how it works!


The K03 collection is the successor of the K02 collection, where the major updates can be found in how you determine the angle and can easily hang the sharpening arm. As such the arm will never get in the way as you turn the knife. Because of the 'automatic' lock after turning the adjustable clamp 180 degrees, you always use the same sharpening angle on both sides of the edge. As such the perfect results are guaranteed.


## Sharpening angle


You can set the sharpening angle between 7 and 23 degrees (for a total sharpening angle from 14 to 46 degrees). As such all intermediate values are possible. You don't determine the angle in steps. TSPROF states that you can determine the angle with a precision of 0.05 mm.


**Determining the sharpening angle.**
Use a marker to colour the edge. Afterwards move over the edge once or twice with the finest sharpening stone. If the angle is right you will immediately remove the part you marked. Do you still see some colour? If so you know that the sharpening stone never touched that part of the edge. On the basis of this you can adjust the sharpening angle. 


## Adjustable clamp


Sharpened the first side of your knife? You don't need to remove the knife to do so! You simply turn the clamp. If you have turned it exactly 180 degrees a magnet will once again secure the arm. When developing the K03-collection the aim was to develop a sharpening system where turning the knife would be effortless. Thanks to this advanced rotating mechanism you will also always use the same sharpening angle on both sides. With this new model it is also possible to let the arm rest on the system.

The TSPROF sharpening systems are produced in Izhevsk, Russia. The first sharpening system, the K01, was developed in 2010 and updated over the years to the K02 and now the K03.
