**The James Brand Chapter** is a compact and stunning pocket knife. Made for adventurers and anyone who loves the outdoors. People who appreciate the beauty of minimalism. No-nonsense, not too much, not too little.


This bright orange edition of The Chapter is designed in cooperation with an outdoor brand called Salomon. Ever since the forties this brand has been making spare parts for ski’s. Today you also visit Salomon to acquire all gear you could possibly need as an mountaineer. From (trail run)shoes to clothing and from helmets to snowboards.


Weight is key when you go out into the mountains. As a result this edition of the Chapter has been enhanced with orange anodized aluminium on the presentation side. Slightly lighter than titanium.


The sleek silhouette of the Chapter might almost remind you of a Finnish Puukko. But only a state of the art folding version. The designers at James worked hard on leaving behind all the unnecessary frills.


In terms of steel The James Brand has chosen D2. A practical type of tool steel. Retains its sharpness well and is incredibly tough. Perfect for everyday use. We do recommend a drop of oil once in a while. Also be careful with salt, liquids and fruit acids: D2 will stain. As a result the blade will develop a beautiful patina, making it even more unique!


Titanium has been used for years as a light-weight, strong and flexible construction material for high-tech purposes. The fact that James has made the handle from titanium is therefore an excellent choice. Titanium feels great in hand and is also very sustainable.


The pocket clip is long and wide. A unique design, not often seen in pocket knife land. It prevents you from losing the Chapter while you are on the road. At the same time you can use it as a money clip.


Bright green accents are what define The James Brand style. The fact that the thumb stud, which you use to open the blade with one hand, has been enhanced with this colour is therefore only fitting.


The sleek James design cannot only be found in the knife. The packaging is also perfect in all its simplicity. A milled out wooden box in a tight cardboard sleeve. And what about the felt storage case also enhanced with the bright green James accent.

Such a shame about this knife. Build looks and feels superb, but I'm now on my 2nd (replaced by James brand) both knives will not lock properly with play between the handle and blade. The loosnes seems to come from the lock design, it's not possible to tighten it up.

So disappointed, I love everything about this knife, blade shape and style is superb. Materials are grade A, but let down by the lock design.
