## Spyderco Native 5
The Spyderco Native 5 has been a best-seller ever since 1997. Characteristic about the Native 5 is the solid lock. The spring on the backlock can easily be opened on the one hand, on the other it will securely lock the blade when opened. This also provides a little resistance when opening the knife.


## Spyderco Native 5 SPY27
The blade is made from CPM SPY27 steel. A remarkable type of steel that was specifically designed with and for Spyderco. It looks a lot like CPM S30V and CPM S35VN, with comparable sharpness retention and toughness. SPY-27, however, is, because of the addition of cobalt and a little less carbon and vanadium, easier to sharpen. It is enhanced with a full-flat grind. This means that the blade has a flat grind from the spine to the edge.
