Resin bound whetstone 220 / 1000 grit  
  


This stone uses resin to bind the abrasives, in this case white aluminium oxide.  

It does not soak up water and therefore does not require frequent wetting. Super Stones wear slowly and maintain a constant sharpening effect.  

  


Splash with water before and during sharpening, do not soak or store in water.  
  

**About grit sizes**  

Whetstones come in various grit sizes. The higher the number, the finer the grit. A finer grit results in a sharper knife. Sharpening a really dull knife on a fine grit will take much time, so you will need to treat it on a coarser grit first.  
  



* 120 - 600: Appropriate when real dull knives need to be brought back in the right shape

* 800 - 1,000: Appropriate to sharpen knives that were already in a reasonable state

* 2,000 - 3,000: For a result sharper than most knives are when they leave the factory

* 5,000 - 12,000: To polish the knife and get a razor sharp edge

Ik geef Kato een dikke 10, want ik heb al meerdere producten hier gekocht. De kwaliteit is altijd in orde maar de supersnelle levering is altijd weer leuk. Bestel je 's middags, heb je het meestal de volgende ochtend al in huis. Maar ook de service is o.k. want ik belde om advies over de Naniwa wetsteen en ze vertelden me precies welke steen ik het beste kon kopen. Dat bleek ook nog een aanbieding wat ook prettig was.
Over Knivesandtools niets dan lof, en mijn volgende bestelling is weer bij hen! 

Premier essai d'affutage à la pierre, vraiment pas déçu du produit malgré un manque de points de comparaison (ma première avec une autre naniwa grain 2000/5000). Mes couteaux d'école hôtelière qui datent d'une vingtaine d'année ont retrouvé une nouvelle jeunesse !!! Plus de poils sur les mains, ça coupe vraiment !!!

Deze steen samen met de 2000/5000 en 3000/10.000 steen aangeschaft om keuken messen en scheermessen te slijpen. Ik gebruik de korrel 1000 kant om een nieuwe snede te zetten, deze werk ik verder af met de andere stenen. Met wat oefening had ik als beginner toch vrij snel een goede snede op mijn messen, een aanrader dus.
Verzending was snel (binnen 24u) en goed verpakt.
