The **Medford 187** is a large pocket knife, made by Medford Knife & Tool in the United States. You open it with the remarkably shaped flipper. The hollow grind on the D2 steel blade was applied by hand. This is a unique feature: only few producers apply a hollow grind by hand. When opened, a solid framelock keeps the blade securely in place. Medford pressed the stop-pin in the blade. As a result, it symmetrically leans against the handle. This adds strength.

## Medford 187 F blade

The hollow-ground blade is made from D2 steel. D2 is a tool steel that will require maintenance and oil. Some budget knives use D2 as a cheap option with a rudimentary heat treatment. Medford, however, does whatever it can to turn D2 into an amazing type of steel with excellent qualities. So definitely not a budget option!

## Medford 187 F handle

This version's presentation side is made from black G10. The lockside is made from titanium. The blade has a black PVD coating.
