It is made of AUS8A steel, which is tough rather than hard, and therefore easy to resharpen, even for inexperienced users. This new model features Cold Steel’s ultra-strong Tri-ad lock mechanism, which prevents the blade from accidentally closing when in use. This new model also sports a Grivory handle, which is considerably stronger than a Zytel one. The handle is equipped with aluminium liners for extra rigidity and strength. An extra pocket clip is included for left-handed users.

Ik heb dit mes gekocht om er een test mee te doen tussen deze en de Spyderco Tenacious. 
Eerlijk gezegd zodra ik de verpakking open deed zag je al een enorm verschil. Na al een hele boel testen te hebben doorlopen kom ik op dit voorlopig resultaat. 
De Voyager is een goed gebruiks mes  echter meer kan ik er niet van zeggen... In vergelijking met de spyderco is deze zeer duur in prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Want de materialen van deze voyager zijn zeer sober en eerlijk gezegd zelfs wat teleurstellend. Het handvat materiaal is precies gemaakt van het dashbord van een oude volkswagen golf.. 
Ook ligt het zeer ongemakkelijk in de hand omdat het meerdere "hotspots" geeft.  De Al om bekende en bejubelde triad lock is overtuigend sterk echter stel ik me zeer veel vragen over de afwerking. Als je zoveel commotie maakt om jou uitvinding vind ik wel dat je het deftig genoeg kan afwerken dat deze geen scherpe randen meer heeft... Nu hoef je al bijna handschoenen aan te doen om het ding dicht te krijgen zonder je zelf een geïrriteerde duim te geven.  
Het lemmet is vrij aardig net als de staalsoort al is het performance gezien zeker de mindere van de Tenacious. 

Kortom ben je een persoon die niets inzit met het verlies of het beschadigen van een mes tijdens gebruik en zoek je een folder met een ijzer sterke lock die zijn werk wel zal doen dan zal deze je niet teleurstellen. Heb je betere eisen dan zou ik deze laten schieten. 

Ik kan niet anders als het maximum te geven bij de quotering. Ik heb ondertussen al  verschillende items besteld bij knives and tools, en kan hierover niet klagen. De levering is snel en de prijs is fantastisch, net als de kwaliteit van Cold Steel. Het product is exact wat ik ervan verwachtte, als je een beetje slim opzoekingswerk doet, weet je ook wat de eigenschappen van dit mes zijn. Vlijmscherp, fantastische grip en uitstekende vergrendeling, eens opengeklapt, is het net zo stevig en betrouwbaar als een fixed blade. Kortom, ik ben een fan.
