Each side is enhanced with a different grain size to make sure you will always have the right sharpening stone close for each knife. You can rotate the sharpening stone and put it back on the wooden base to make sure the right sharpening stone is always facing up. This sharpening system also comes with a bottle with 30 ml of sharpening oil and a sharpening angle guide for a 23 degree sharpening angle.
