The **Buck Talon** is a large survival knife. It is almost a machete. It is very versatile, both during camping trips and when maintaining the garden. It was originally designed to clear jungle paths. The blade is enhanced with a 'hawkbill' shape. It is almost a hook. The result is that the material is somehow pulled 'into' the edge.



In addition to a 25 cm razor-sharp blade the Talon is capable of a lot more. The spine of the blade, for instance, is enhanced with a saw. Because of its generous size it is very coarse, but during a survival or camping situation it is always great to have such a tool around. You can namely do more with it than saw through branches: even when 'notching' wood this type of saw can come in handy.



The blade is made from 5160 steel. That's a tough type of tool steel that can handle quite a lot. As such you can always rely on your knife, even in the most precarious situations. 5160 is easy to sharpen. Also great when you are out in the field with limited means. The only thing you need to take into account is the corrosion resistance: moisure, acids, salt and blood can leave discolourations or even cause rust. For that reason Buck enhanced the blade with a Cerakote coating. This sustainable coating protects it against rust, but can eventually also wear out. That is why it is important to clean the knife after use and occasionally grease it.



To carry the Buck Talon 808 with you it comes with a solid plastic sheath with MOLLE compatible nylon backing.
