The **Böker Tenera paring knife** is a very practical mix of a chef's knife and a peeling knife. The most frequent use of the paring knife in the kitchen is when peeling vegetables and fruit. But you can also cut smaller pieces of fish and meat. You will use this knife on a regular basis and should therefore not be missing from your kitchen!


## Böker Tenera blade: C75 or 4034 steel.


The Tenera collection is comprised of eight knives. Four come with a blade made from C75 steel. The other four come with a blade made from 4034 steel. 


This paring knife is enhanced with a blade made from C75 steel. C75 carbon steel is not stainless, but easy to sharpen which is a great advantage. Carbon steel also forms a blue-grey patina in time. Amazing to see and it makes each knife unique. It changes colour because of fruit acids and moisture. That is why a couple drops of oil once in a while will keep it in great shape. 


## Böker Tenera handle: ice beech wood.


The handle is made from ice beech wood. Ice beech wood is a type of beech wood. The special colour emerges because of a fungus. This fungus develops each time the beech wood falls over. The moisture allows the fungus to develop well. Once dried, the growth of the fungus stops. This makes it possible to make beautiful knife handles. The name "Eisbuche" refers to the effect of the veined drawing, which might remind you of jagged icebergs. This wood is seamlessly attached to the blade with four rivets.
