Resin bound whetstone 2000 / 5000 grit  


This stone uses resin to bind the abrasives, in this case white aluminium oxide.  

It does not soak up water and therefore does not require frequent wetting. Super Stones wear slowly and maintain a constant sharpening effect.  

  
  



Splash with water before and during sharpening, do not soak or store in water.  
  

**About grit sizes**  

Whetstones come in various grit sizes. The higher the number, the finer the grit. A finer grit results in a sharper knife. Sharpening a really dull knife on a fine grit will take much time, so you will need to treat it on a coarser grit first.  
  



* 120 - 600: Appropriate when real dull knives need to be brought back in the right shape

* 800 - 1,000: Appropriate to sharpen knives that were already in a reasonable state

* 2,000 - 3,000: For a result sharper than most knives are when they leave the factory

* 5,000 - 12,000: To polish the knife and get a razor sharp edge

Surement un savoir-faire pour obtenir le meilleur affutage que je n'ai pas encore, mais des résultats déjà palpables.

bisher sehr gute Ergebnisse . Schleife vor allem mein Rasiermesser darauf . 

L'association des pierres Super de Naniwa grain 220/1 000 et Super de Naniwa grain 2 000/5 000 permet l'obtention d'un résultat optimale. Une finition avec une lanière/ceinture en cuir permet d'éliminer le peu de morfil restant et d'obtenir un tranchant rasoir.
L'investissement est conséquent mais le résultat y est, les pierres s'use très peu, je pense qu'elles vont durée quelques décennies (à voir s'il ne faut pas les aplanir à un moment). 

Steen slijpt mooi glad.  Voordeel is dat de steen snel gebruikt kan worden omdat deze niet eerst in het water hoeft te worden gelegd.  Je moet het mes wel in de juiste hoek houden want je snijdt anders makkelijk in de steen.

Premier essai d'affutage à la pierre, vraiment pas déçu du produit malgré un manque de points de comparaison (ma première avec une autre naniwa grain 220/1000). Mes couteaux d'école hôtelière qui datent d'une vingtaine d'année ont retrouvé une nouvelle jeunesse !!! Plus de poils sur les mains, ça coupe vraiment !!!
